Dear parents,

In our Civics class, we are studying how ordinary citizens can influence legislation. As part of a lesson to be taught on (insert date), your child’s class will be viewing a five minute video about Amy Wong Mok, a Chinese American woman who successfully lobbied Congress to end the Marital Exemption for Rape.

While the major part of this lesson will deal with the No Child Left Behind Act, I understand that the content of the above mentioned video may be objectionable to some parents.

Please contact me if you would like to take one or more of the following steps:

Set up a time before or after school to preview the video in my classroom.

Have your child watch an alternate video.
